Biography
Professor Dr. Iqbal Ahmed graduated with Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Honors (with Distinction) from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2007 and joined as Lecturer in the same department in February 2008. He received 06-month diploma degree in the field of Satellite Navigation and Information System from University of Rome, Italy in 2010. In September 2015, he earned a combined Master's degree from the PERCCOM program of the European Union (EU). He earned his master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering from the University of Lorraine (UL) in France, followed by master’s degrees in technology from the Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) in Finland and pervasive computing and communication for sustainable development from the Lulea University of Technology (LTU) in Sweden. During his master’s and diploma program, he has received two Cat-A Erasmus Mundus scholarships from the European Union, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. In March 2018, he earned his doctorate (Ph.D.) in Information Sciencefrom Saga University of Japan. He received a Japanese SIPOP Scholarship for his PhD studies. From October 2015 until December 2017, he served as an Associate Researcher at The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science & Technology (AIST), Kyushu Prefecture Branch, Japan. He has been employed as a Professor at the University of Chittagong's (CU) Department of Computer Science and Engineering since September 2021. His current research interest lies in the field of green & sustainable computing and information processing.
